1 SCID mice

It is an albino strain with a spontaneous severe combined immunodeficiency mutation that interferes with T and B cell development and maturation. But the SCID mice had normal NK cells, macrophages and granulocytes. They looked like normal mice.

The combined function of T lymphocyte and B lymphocyte in SCID mice is deficient, and the weight of thymus, spleen and lymph node is less than 30% of the normal weight. SCID mice are widely used in oncology, immunology, microbiology, reproductive medicine and other fields, and are good hosts for PDX model.  Minor number of SCID mice appear some degree of immune function recovery in young age, which is known as leakage in SCID mice. The leakage is not hereditary, but is related to the age, strain and feeding environment of mice. SCID mice are highly susceptible to infection and can live for more than 1 year in a highly clean SPF environment.

2 NOD-SCID mice

Compared with normal SICD, NK cells have lower activity and lower chance of immune recovery. Nod-scid mice were immunodeficient mice backcrossed with non-obese diabetic mice (NOD/Lt) strain on the basis of SCID mice. Nod-scid mice had both congenital immune deficiency and T and B lymphocyte deficiency, and various tumor cells could be implanted with less rejection and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Nod-scid mice were susceptible to thymic lymphoma and lived only 8.5 months in a special aseptic environment.

3 Nude mice

The nude mouse without thymus has become an indispensable experimental animal model in the field of medical biology. Its T lymphocyte function defects, congenital absence of thymus, are widely used in oncology, microbiology, immunology, parasitology, genetics, toxicology, clinical medicine and other research. Tumor cells are usually inserted under the skin, where they can grow. Spontaneous tumor in nude mice is rare and nude mice are susceptible to mouse hepatitis and viral pneumonia.

4 CBA/N mice

B cell dysfunction, genetic symbol XID, located on the X sex chromosome. CBA/N mice had no humoral immune response to non-thymic type II antigen, and the contents of IgM and IgG in serum were decreased, and lacked reaction to the B cells secreting IgM and IgG and the T cells in CBA/N mice were normal. CBA/N mice can be used to bone marrow transplantation, so this mouse is an ideal animal for studying the production, function and heterogeneity of B lymphocytes, and its pathology is an ideal model for human Bruton's gamma globulin deficiency and Wiskott-Aidsch syndrome.

5 Beige (bg) mice

Mutant lines of mice with defective cell activity are caused by mutations in the recessive gene BG on chromosome 13. The development and function of endogenous NK cells in mice were defective, as well as the activity of blood coagulation and macrophages. The immune and anti-tumor killing effect of mice appeared late, and the function of cytotoxic T cells was lacking. The humoral immune function of mice to homogeneic and heterogeneic tumor cells was weakened, and the antitumor and killing cell activity of macrophages was lacking. Applied in the field of immunology. It is sensitive to various pathogenic factors and needs a good SPF environment.
